Crafting a brand identity from scratch, I had to encapsulate their spirit of transformative travel and uncharted exploration in a visually appealing and emotionally resonant identity. This involved deep market research to understand the travel sector's nuances and the specific niche Uncharted Spirits aimed to fill.
The brand design was crafted to capture a sense of adventure, leaning into a vintage mid-century design approach. Stars in the distance of a silhouetted mountainside was chosen as the logo mark – a view many travelers see. Color tones capture the pallets of rugged terrain that lays beneath the feet of travelers; earth speaking into color.
Designing the website, the challenge was to create an online presence that was not only visually aligned with this new brand identity, but also user-friendly and engaging. It needed to effectively communicate their unique value proposition and inspire users to embark on unguided travel adventures. This required a careful balance of creative design, compelling content, and intuitive navigation.
The site would be used primarily as a journal and video platform, cataloging every adventure in an episodic format, which meant video content needed to maximize engagement. Prioritizing video content would pull visitors in to digest more content – and maybe take an adventure of their own. User flows for navigation of episodes and related video content was carefully planned to ensure visitors had the best user experience possible and could easily follow the journeys of each story.
